How to care for your THE IQONE T-shirt

The fewer chemicals and the lower the heat, the longer the fabric keeps its properties. A few simple rules are all it takes.

01

Washing

Wash at 40 °C on a delicates programme. A small amount of mild liquid detergent is enough — the fewer chemicals, the better, so skip powder and bleach.

Spin at up to 1000 rpm. The Outlast® PCM capsules are embedded in the structure of the fibre, not applied as a coating, so the washing machine won't rinse them out. A gentle programme protects the knit itself.

02

Drying

Dry naturally: on a hanger, a drying rack or flat. It's the simplest way to help the T-shirt keep its shape for as long as possible.

Don't put it in a tumble dryer and don't lay it on a radiator or in full sun. High heat damages the Lycra® that gives the fabric its stretch and can distort the knit.

03

Ironing and storage

Usually there's no need to iron — just hang the T-shirt up straight after washing. If you want to, iron on a low setting, maximum 100 °C, ideally inside out.

Store it clean and dry, folded on a shelf.

Do and avoid

✓ Do

  • Wash at 40 °C on a delicates programme
  • Use a small amount of mild liquid detergent
  • Turn the T-shirt inside out before washing
  • Dry naturally: on a hanger, a drying rack or flat
  • Iron on a low setting, maximum 100 °C

× Avoid

  • Fabric softener
  • Powder, bleach and chlorine stain removers
  • Washing above 40 °C and spinning above 1000 rpm
  • Tumble dryers
  • Drying on a radiator or in full sun
The one rule that makes the biggest difference

Why no fabric softener?

Fabric softener leaves a thin layer on the fibres that makes them stick together. Tencel™ and viscose then can't take up and release moisture freely, and the fabric works less well against your skin. The T-shirt is soft on its own — softener adds nothing and takes away what you chose it for.

Care questions

Will the PCM capsules wash out?

No. They're embedded in the structure of the viscose fibre, not applied to the surface as a coating. That's why spin speed hardly matters to them — the 1000 rpm limit protects the knit itself.

Can I wash it with other clothes?

Yes, with items of similar colours. Avoid washing it with clothes that have zips or Velcro, or with denim — they can rub the knit.

How often should I wash it?

Whenever you need to. Between wears, air the T-shirt on a hanger — often that's enough. Washing less often also means a longer life for the fabric.

What if I washed it hotter or put it in the dryer?

The capsules stay in the fibre, but high heat can change the shape and stretch of the knit. Go back to washing at 40 °C and drying on a hanger.

Does it need ironing?

Usually not. If you hang it up straight after washing, it smooths out by itself. If you do iron it — maximum 100 °C, inside out.
